Mighty Wanderers fans, aka Nyerere, have disclosed that they are going ahead with their plans to hold a demonstration in Blantyre against the decision by SULOM to ban them for five months and again asking them to pay MK 700, 000 over the fracas that erupted at their game against Silver Strikers in Balaka and saw the death of one of their supporters.
The Nyerere fans have vowed to take their demonstrations through the city of Blantyre, to Sanjika palace, FAM and eventually the Reserve Bank of Malawi which sponsors Silver Strikers.
The General Secretary of the team, David Kanyenda, has disclosed that they have been making preparations for the demonstrations and even rehearsing for the same. He further said that over the weekend he met senior police officers at the Southern region police headquarters where they discussed on the logistics of the demonstrations.
SULOM banned MTL wanderers for five months in all competitive matches as a result of the violence in Balaka while their counterparts, Silver Strikers, have been banned for eight months.
The decision has been blamed by many quarters.
