The train is gliding towards the 2014 elections and the ground is getting rough apparently for President Joyce Banda, a situation that has forced her to shut up her press officers and hire the services of a veteran.

Confirmed reports indicate that the President has appointed Mr. Ellias Wakuda Kamanga to be speaking on her behalf and, thereby, suspending her press officers of which Mr. Steve Nhlane, Mr. Brian Banda and Mr. Tusekelo Mwanyongo are some of them.

Kamanga was the Presidential adviser on Political affairs and communication before his new appointment.

As a new Press officer for the President, Mr. Kamanga yesterday was on the public broadcasters lambasting journalists for disrespecting the President and, according to him, operating beyond their limits and freedoms in talking on issues that affect the Presidency.
