With five months only to the crucial do or die tripartite elections, the ruling Peoples’ Party (PP) seem to have its troubles far from over and its house needing a rebuilding after its director of elections in the Eastern region has thought it enough and has decided to call it quits.
The director, a Mr. Mankhanamba, has called it quits after alleging unfair practices in the way the party has conducted primary elections in some constituencies that fall within the Eastern region.
It was reported in the media that the PP had to twist results in some other constituencies after it was discovered that the winners were not what the party politburo wanted. As such, the party had to promise diplomatic posts if it wins to other aspirants of it who had won the seats but had been declared losers in the spirit of appeasement.
The development apparently irked Mr. Mankhanamba who has had to leave the party.
