The ways of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth appear to be far from changing.
Reports reaching the FaceofMalawi desk indicate that the youths of the party, well-known for carrying pangas to intimidate opponents yesterday went back to their old ways and gave some dose of it to the party’s deputy spokesperson, Bon Kalindo aka Winiko.
Kalindo was among the members of the party who had gone to welcome the party President, Peter Mutharika, at the Kamuzu International Airport from his visit in the US.
The reports show that Kalindo was manhandled by the cadets of the party at Mutharika’s Area 10 residence over his visit to Sanjika palace where he claimed to have had a discussion with the President over an injunction he obtained against Bauxite mining in the Mulanje mountain. Some party supporters, however, find it hard to believe that and think that Kalindo is acting as a spy of the PP.
Kalindo is set to stand as a Member of Parliament for the DPP in Mulanje South East constituency.
