The Airtel Tipate promotion is yet to be done distributing millions and in this last month of the competition it has gone ten times bigger as participants will have a chance to win the grand prize of MK 10 million.

Operating under the same guidelines in which customers have to transact with money more than MK 100 a day via Airtel money, Airtel subscribers can enter the competition by buying Malawian music using Airtel money

According to a statement, customers who are using Airtel money stand a chance to win the prestigious MK 10 million if they use MK 500 to buy four songs of their choice from any artist on sale from the malawi-music.com website.

The arrangement is that customers will have to get codes from http://www.malawi-music.com of the four songs they want from the albums that are on sale on the website and then they will have to send MK 500 to the nickname MFM144 and they have to use the codes they have gotten from the site as reference numbers. This will see them automatically getting into the draw for the daily MK 1 million prize whose draws are conducted every Wednesday and they stand a chance of winning MK 10 million at the end of the competition.

Customers will then receive a message with links to the songs they want and they will have to download them into their phones while, at the same time, they will have qualified for the MK 10 million Airtel has put forward as the end of the competition mega prize.

The competition will run up to the end of January.

This development comes at a time when Malawi is making inroads into online music marketing which has just been hailed by one of the country’s veteran musicians, Lucius Banda, as being the way to go in the digital age.

This arrangement will also see musicians benefitting from the sales of their music as singles which is a new phenomenon in the Malawian music setting.
