Peoples’ Party (PP) deputy spokesperson, Kenneth Msonda, has denied the allegations that he is planning to ditch the party and stand as an independent candidate after being frustrated by the party primaries which saw Kamlepo Kalua emerging winner.
Information indicates that Msonda has withdrawn his protest to the party’s acting secretary general over the results and has since accepted defeat. In a letter FaceofMalawi has seen, Msonda has written the acting Secretary General of the party, Paul Maulidi, advising him to stop investigating into the issue of primaries in Rumphi West constituency where he had suffered humiliating defeat at the hands of Kalua.
Msonda has as well urged his supporter to rally behind Kalua and has declared that he is PP through and through.
Allegations had been flying that Msonda was quitting the party and will be contesting as an independent but Msonda has dismissed them as being untrue.
