President of the Peoples’ Transformation (PETRA) party, Kamuzu Walter Chibambo, who had at the eleventh hour withdrawn his intention to contest in the 2014 elections as a President rescinded his decision.

Chibambo has since submitted his papers this afternoon after withdrawing from his withdrawal that he made earlier on.

However, PETRA has indicated that they had not actually withdrawn from the race but had just wanted it shifted and it had been an error in communication that had seen the media carrying it as a withdrawal.

The chair of the Electoral Commission, Justice Maxon Mbendera, has since apologized to the party on the erroneous information that the media put across.
