The military men of Moyale Barracks have just been denied a chance of having the glory of being the 2013/14 TNM Super league champions after Silver Strikers taught a football lesson to Mighty Wanderers this morning at Kamuzu stadium at a decider match that was played before an empty stadium.

The match which had earlier been played at Balaka stadium on December 28 had been suspended after a fracas involving supporters of the two teams which saw one Wanderers supporters losing his life and an eventual fine as well as punishment to the two teams.

The punishments that were meted out to the two teams have always been a bone of contention until after the last one that was imposed by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) after an appeal.

Silver Strikers (popularly called The Bankers) have reclaimed the title of the league after beating Wanderers by a margin of 2 goals to 1 and, thereby, as well denying Wanderers the chance to climb to position 4.

Silver Strikers took the lead in the 6th minute of the game through Ndaziona Chatsalira before adding on another goal in the 2nd half through Green Harawa. Timothy Chitedze awarded Wanderers a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game but his goal was not just enough to save them.
