Problems rocking one of the country’s main referral hospitals, Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) seem to be far from over as it has just been indicated that the mortuary of the hospital has been shut down after being full and having one out of four clod rooms working.

According to information that FaceofMalawi has, three cold rooms of the mortuary are not working and this has left the hospital with no choice but to have only one cold room working which is full as well. The development has forced the hospital authorities yo have the mortuary closed.

Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) has lately become a center of focus for the problems it has been facing ranging from shortage of medical equipments to strike by staff of the hospital in protest over the same and now, the failing mortuary.

Due to the shortage of drugs in the hospitals, KCH has been said to record a high number of deaths with the average being 17 people passing on per day.

It is not yet known when the situation will be acted upon by relevant authorities.
