The ruling People’s Party (PP) Presidential running mate Sosten Gwengwe, come May 20 has condemned corruption and Politics of appeasement as detrimental to development.
Gwengwe said this in Rumphi over the Weekend.
In his speech Gwengwe said politics is a tool to development and must not be abused by greedy individuals.
“The noble duty of a politician is to serve his constituents and nothing else; the tendency of joining politics to make money is failing this country. We need politicians who can serve the people and save the nation from poverty and hunger”, he said.
He further blamed regionalism and tribalism as hiccups to unity and development.
Minister of Youth and Sports development, Hon. Enoch Chihana who was also present at the rally, agreed with Gwengwe that tribalism has failed this country.
