President Joyce Banda is expected to travel this afternoon to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for a SADC meeting aimed at ending the crisis in the country.
President Banda, who is the chair of the Southern African regional body, is expected to depart for DRC at 1 p.m.
Since ascending to the seat of the head of the regional body, President Banda has led various interventions to see to it that the conflict in the mineral-rich country is over.
The President has even had to send Malawian troops behind the back of parliament to the country and there have even been some revelations from the government that the money that was realised from the sale of the Presidential jet had a huge chunk of it allocated to the peace-keeping mission in the DRC.
