The Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) has sent back the forensic audit report to the auditor general arguing that it is not fulfilling what they expected.

Among others, the parliamentarians who congregated this morning said that the failure of the report to name the companies and individuals involved in the Cashgate scandal made the report useless and, therefore, not worthy of any debate.

It has meanwhile been established that the report has been sen back to the auditor general’s office so that it addresses those concerns.

On Monday, the government of Malawi released the forensic audit report to Parliament through the Ministry of finance after days of much delays.

A day before, there had been a leaked forensic audit report which was disowned by the government. Meanwhile, it appears no member of the public has yet seen the one that has been kicked back to the auditor general’s office.
