Football Association of Malawi(FAM) General Secretary, Suzgo Nyirenda has disclosed that Malawi National team the Flames will on March 5 play an International friendly against the warriors of Zimbabwe.

He said this in an interview stressing that now all the preparations are at an advanced stage.

“We had three teams that were ready to play an international friendly with Malawi  and these were Kenya, Sudan and Zimbabwe”, he said.

He however, said they settled for Zimbabwe since the warriors were willing to travel and play the game in Malawi.

“The others wanted us to travel but this was not possible since we are not sure of funding as you are aware we already exhausted our annual subvention from government”, said Nyirenda.

The friendly which will be played on Fifa date, will be the first test for the newly appointed Coach Young Chimodzi and his assistant Coach Jack Chamangwana.
