Mary Nkosi who once served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank has been appointed a member of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) into four member committee of elders.

The news of Nkosi appointment was made known by the secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  George Nkandiwa through a communiqué on President Banda’s recent trips to Kenya and Nigeria.

” Malawi was honored at the Comesa summit with the election of Mrs Mary Catherine Nkosi  former Deputy Governor of RBM, as one of the four new members of the Comesa committee of elders”, said Nkandiwa.

Nkosi will serve in the capacity for a period of four years.

The 19-member body is chaired by the DRC President.
