The NGO-Gender Coordination Network has expressed discontent over the conduct of some female aspiring councilors who protested over allowances at a training session late last week.

Chairperson of the network, Mrs. Emma Kaliya, told a local radio station that the conduct is likely to dent the image of the female candidates.

Mrs Kaliya said it is doubtful that aspiring leaders who prioritize money over a training session can have the welfare of their constituents at heart.

The candidates, especially those from Lilongwe City, complained that they were not being given allowances while their colleagues from elsewhere pocketed K32,000 for the three-day training.
