Representatives of Tisintha Alliance have assured its followers that George Mnesa who broke his neck and has been advised to be on treatment for two months will still contest in the forth coming elections.

Mnesa, who is among the presidential aspirants, sustained a neck injury a few days ago; a development some thought would make him drop his presidential ambitions.

However, speaking in an interview with a local radio station, Secretary General for the Alliance Rose Anthony said the injury will not stop him from participating in the campaign race.

“Mr Mnesa is sick but will contest because by the time of the elections he will be better according to his doctors.” Anthony said.

According to Anthony, the doctors treating Mnesa have given him 8 weeks recovery period.

This means Mnesa will remain invisible on politics perspective for the period of two months and he may be at least fit to stand on a podium just weeks before May 20th polls.

Mnesa is said to have broked his neck after falling down at a friend’s house.
