CHILEKA AIRPORT CLOSURE HEAVY BLOW TO MW AIRLINE

Malawian Airlines has said temporally closure of Chileka International Airport in Blantyre has heavily affected the business of the company.
Spokesperson for Malawian Airline, Maganizo Mazeze told a local radio station on Thursday.
” . In Blantyre we have lots of passengers who rely on our planes for transport so with the closure it means loss of business to us as a company”, he said.
Mazeze however admitted that, the maintenance of the airport is a welcome development since it will help to curb some complications that could have happened due to its condition.
The airport was closed for rehabilitation for a period of two weeks over the weekend and is expected to be re- opened next week.
