With 35 days to go before the country host the first ever tripartite election on May 20,the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has disclosed that the printing of Parliamentary and Councillors ballot papers have been finalized.
MEC Chief Elections Officer Willie Kalonga said in an interview with a local media house on Monday that the printing of the two ballot papers was a sign that the electoral body was on track with its preparations.
Kalonga also disclosed that the commission has maintained the ballot paper design for previous elections and that the only changes for the elections this year are the colours and the security features.
“We have finished printing the ballot papers for the two elections. What is remaining is the ballot paper for the presidential candidates,” said Kalonga.
Meanwhile it is not yet known as to when the body will start printing ballot papers for Presidential Candidates.
