Fire brigade team had a rude awakening on Tuesday evening in Ndirande where they went to put down fire as angry mob stoned them due to what they called late response.
According to the report, the fire that raised down Ndirande Bakery started around 10pm and fire brigade arrived at the scene one hour late.
In his speech Blantyre City Council (BCC), senior fire officer said:
“We rushed to the scene after getting notice, but upon arriving people started stoning our vehicle, saying we have come late.
“We drove to Ndirande Police Station where we got police officers to back us up to disperse the crowd, so we can go ahead to put out the fire”.
This is not the first time fire brigade have been accused of late response
