United Democratic Front (UDF) presidential candidate Atupele Muluzi of Ung’onoung’ono fame On Wednesday took the campaign trail to the vendors of Lilongwe Chinsapo and Area 25 where he urged them to receive the gift given by politician in good faith.
“Accept campaign gifts in good faith – the gifts are ultimately the fruits of your own labour but on the day of the election, vote for the UDF”, he said amid ululation from the vendors.
The UDF leader’s remarks comes amid continued donations by the ruling People’s Party (PP) despite being heavily criticize.
He further promised his supporters that once voted into power he will put governance system at work.
“This free for all system where public officers share public funds like tomatoes is coming to an end on 20th May,” he said.
The young Muluzu is one of the strong contenders in the forthcoming tripartite election.
