Super League teams in the country now have the reason to smile as Carlsberg  Malawi who are the sponsors of the Carlsberg  Cup have raised the sponsorship from K20million to K30million.

Twikale Chirwa who is the company’s Brands Manager revealed this yesterday at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre.

Chirwa said it is their duty as sponsors to help develop the game of football in the country hence the need to raise the sponsorship.

On his part,Football Association Malawi (FAM) President Walter Nyamilandu commended the gesture shown by Carlsberg.

Meanwhile this year’s Carlsberg Cup is expected to start next month and will be played in phases.
