Former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Leader John Tembo graced Chakwera’s campaign trail in style urging Malawians to turn up in large numbers on 20 May and vote for the MCP leader.

Tembo joined the current MCP Presidential torchbearer Lazarus Chakwera in Salima in the Central region which is believed to be the stronghold of the party.

In his speech Tembo said: “I am convinced that Chakwera is the leader that Malawi needs if we are to develop and reclaim our lost glory. It is Chakwera and MCP in the way forward”.

He also vowed to rally behind his predecessor.

Tembo who is one of the long serving member of Parliament resigned from politics and as MCP leader during the party’s convention last year.
