The last phase of voter verification exercise for the forthcoming tripartite election is expected to start on May 1 2014.
The exercise will target all areas that were left out in the second phase in the Central region and one of the areas is Kasungu district where there were enormous irregularities which led to the suspension of the first exercise.
Of late Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) in conjunction with Malawi election information centre introduced a free SMS verification facility to help the exercise.
So far about 55,900 voter verification request have been received by MEC through this process.
Meanwhile irregularities of missing names continues to lock the process.
