The final phase of Malawi’s voters’ roll inspection is expected to commence Thursday and close on May 12, Malawi Electoral Commission spokesperson Sangwani Mwafulirwa announced Wednesday.According to the official, the third and final phase of the inspection exercise would cover the remaining districts of central Malawi, including the capital Lilongwe, Ntchisi, Dedza, Dowa and Kasungu.

“Voters from these districts should go with their voter certificate to the centre where they wish to vote and ask to be transferred,” he said.

He noted that without a voter certificate transfers would not be processed.

He however advised those who lost their voter certificates to get duplicates from the registration centres and also encouraged Malawians to report the death of relatives so that they are removed from the voters’ roll.

Malawi is expected to hold the first-ever tripartite elections on May 20.
