The dream that Malawians were waiting for in Football has been successfully reached; following the unveiling of a K250 million sponsorship by Carlsberg Malawi to the National team the flames.
The sponsorship will run for three years.
The dream was reached on Thursday night at Ryalls Hotel.
In his speech Carlsberg Malawi Commercial Director Allen Mc Innes said the sponsorship aim at taking the flames and football in the country to greater height.
“I am pleased to announce that Carlsberg is going into a three year contract with the Football Association of Malawi (FAM). Carlsberg will sponsor the Malawi National Team, the Flames, to the tune of MK250 Million, subject to yearly review,” he said.
He also said the company will provide the team with sports kit.
On his part Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Justine Saidi hails the gesture shown by the company in trying to uplift Football in the country.
FAM President Waiter Nyamilandu Manda called the sponsorship “a dream come true”.
Carlsberg Malawi also has pledged take full control of Chiwembe FAM bar.
