With about 8 days to go before the country host the first ever tripartite election, about 24 million ballots papers  to be used on the forthcoming tripartite elections have arrived in the country.

The ballot papers arrived in the country over the Weekend through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe by Ethiopian Airlines.

Malawi Police and the Malawi Defence Force have been entrusted to provide security on the warehouse where these ballot papers have been kept.

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), Chairperson Maxon Mbendera,  assured all electoral stakeholders  who came to witness the arrival of ballot papers in the country that ballot papers will be kept safely.

He, however urged the law enforcers to arrest anyone found tampering with the ballot papers.
