Malawi Electoral Commission(MEC) has disclosed that distribution of ballot papers ahead of May 20 tripartite elections will start tomorrow Friday.

 MEC’s Chairperson Maxon Mbendela disclosed this in Blantyre on Thursday during a press briefing.

 In his speech, he urged all electoral stakeholders who were present during the arrival of ballot papers on Saturday and Sunday  at Kamuzu International Airport to also be available tomorrow.

 “The Commission is encouraging all stakeholders who were there when the ballot papers were loaded into the warehouse and indeed when we were sealing the warehouse, to be present and witness the whole process,” he said.

 Mbendela has further asked the Multiparty Liaison committee members and other electoral stakeholders also to be available in councils where these ballot paper will be kept to check if indeed they are the once will be dispatched tomorrow.

 Meanwhile ballot papers for Likoma will be airlifted on Sunday.
