The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is not for sale and neither is its election on any seat.
A press statement from the Commission that has been signed by the Chief elections officer released today has indicated that the Commission is aware of some political parties that are replacing staff that the Commission has employed to replace them with their own.
This is being said that it is done to easily facilitate vote rigging especially by the ruling People’s Party (PP) who are going about bullying the officials that the Commission has put in place who are mostly civil servants, that is Primary school teachers.
The Commission has further indicated that it will not entertain anybody outside their mandated officials to work on the day of elections.
The Commission has urged the Returning officers to report to it of such malpractices.
