Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) running mate Saulos Chilima today declared that the May 20 elections are not to be rigged.

Speaking to a crowd that gathered at Likuni in Lilongwe where he was doing a whistle stop across the district, Chilima told the crowd that had gathered that there was no way that this year’s elections would be rigged.

“All the loopholes have been sealed and do not be discouraged about the rigging allegations. There is no way any party will rig these elections. On Tuesday, go to where you registered, cast your vote and go home to expect results which will indicate that we have carried the day. Forget rigging,” Chilima said.

Chilima who is also the former Managing Director of Airtel Malawi left the telecommunications world to join the political world. He is expecting to get his verdict on May 20 when Malawi go to the polls on whether they think him a right candidate for the office of Vice President or not.
