Malawi Electoral Commission is cracking on campaigning intending to happen after it has closed the official time of campaigning today at 6 am.
A statement read by the chair of the Commission, Maxon Mbendera, has disclosed that the Commission is expecting the telecommunications companies to be partners with them in seeing to it that campaign messages are not spread across.
“Telecommunication companies should see that bulk campaign messages are not sent to people and if they are in doubt they should check with the commission,” said Mbendera in reading the statement on the national television, MBCtv.
With the court restraining government from using the spy machine, it is not known how MEC intends to see to it that the telecommunications companies stop that bulk sending of text messages.
