Suspended!
Distribution of ballot papers in Lilongwe district has been suspended after irregularities marred the process which has seen people accuse the CEO of Lilongwe city, Richard Hara, of being the center of rigging in the district in favour of incumbent Joyce Banda.
Information in our custody indicate that the suspension is with effect to tomorrow morning when it will resume again.
So far, there have been unconfirmed reports of ballot papers already marked and cast in favour of President Banda in the Capital which led to people deflating tyres of the car that carried the ballot papers, a city patrol vehicle.
As we came to press, Lilongwe CEO was in the security of the police after an angry mob had threatened to smash his head over the role he was playing in the alleged rigging.
