President Joyce Banda using the powers vested in her has today officially dissolved her cabinet, State house has said.

The President has done so in accordance with the electoral laws that demand that cabinet be dissolved days prior to the elections.

Meanwhile, a statement from the office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) has indicated that all matters relating to whichever ministry will in the meantime be handled by President Banda.

The statement has further advised all outgoing cabinet ministers to consult the Chief Secretary on all administrative issues to do with the ministries that have been stripped off them.

Meanwhile two days and a few hours are left for Malawi to go to the polls in which President Banda is seeking a re-election.
