MEC HAS ENOUGH MONEY FOR VOTE RECOUNTS -CHIMKWITA PHIRI

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has down played concerns raised by some stakeholders that the body is not having enough funds to carry out the vote recounts process.
Commissioner Reverend Emmanuel Chinkwita Phiri disputed this yesterday after the press briefing held organised by the body aiming at updating Malawians on the progress of vote counting
In his speech, he said all the expenses that will be anchored during votes recounts are within MEC’s budget.
He also disclosed that other stakeholders have pledged to carry the process for free.
Meanwhile DPP still insist that its unconstitutional for MEC to embark on vote recount process.
