Former President Joyce Banda who it had been indicated this morning that she will be attending President Peter Mutharika’s inauguration ceremony at the Kamuzu stadium has made a u-turn on her attendance of the event.
Banda through her spokesperson has just indicated that she will not attend the event as she is in Nkhatabay taking a rest. Nkhatabay is the home of her husband.
Broadcaster ZBS had earlier indicated that Banda will be attending the event but Banda has said she is not doing that.
There has been bad blood between Banda and Mutharika ever since the former was fired from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for refusing to endorse the latter for Presidential candidacy.
