Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has obtained the exclusive rights to broadcast all the matches from the FIFA World Cup 2014 live free-to-air on terrestrial television.
“We’ll be beaming all the 64 games including the final live on MBCTV plus Radio2fm,” said Benson Tembo, director general, MBC.
“We hope there will be no interruptions, but where there will be interruptions we’ll record the games and provide another time they [the audience] can view the games,” he added.
The amount of the deal with football’s world governing body FIFA to secure the broadcasting rights has not been disclosed.
The World Cup kicks off in Brazil on Thursday 12 June and runs until Sunday 13 July 2014.
