
MBC VETERAN BROADCASTER DIES

Death has been announced of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)Veteran broadcaster James Chipofya at the age of 64
According to the relative Chipofya died of Prostate Cancer on Friday at Blantyre Adventist Hospital after a long battle.
Chipofya served MBC in various capacity and retired as Controller of News in 2010.
MBC Director General Benson Tembo said he was sadden with Chipofya’s death.
“Our thoughts are with his wife and family and friends at this difficult time.
Chipofya is survived by a wife, five children and eight grandchildren.
Meanwhile, Chipofya’s son Louis said the broadcaster will be buried on Sunday at Ruviri, Mwadandambi Village TA Chikulamayembe in Rumphi.
