The speaker of Parliament honourable Richard Msowoya has suspended deliberations in the August house this morning due to the absence of government MPs in the house.
According to information sourced by Face of Malawi, deliberations on the State of the National Address was expected to start at 9:30 today but by that time there was no one from the government side.
The development forced the speaker to suspend the house to 11:30am.
Yesterday deliberations were also disrupted after Opposition unanimously opposed the deliberations due to the absence of Cabinet Ministers and Business Committee of the house.
Meanwhile reports reaching Face of Malawi indicate that all government MPs are at Mtunthama State Lodge attending to the swearing-in ceremony of new cabinet which has been released in the wee hours of today.
