Following the appointment of United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi into Cabinet, UDF has replaced Lucius Banda as new leader of the party in the August House.

President Professor Author Peter Mutharika released his final list of his cabinet on the wee hours of Monday where the Young Muluzi of Ung’ono Ung’ono fame was included as Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining.

The development left the Party with no leader in the house as the appointment meant that Muluzi has to start seating in ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) bench.

This brought fear among UDF followers who thought that, that might mark the end of the party.
