The murder trial involving Oscar Pistorius is set to resume today in Pretoria, South Africa after six weeks break.

The six weeks break was for the athlete to go on medical to determine whether mental illness played any part in his actions on the night he shot dead his girlfriend.

Pistorius is being accused of murdering Reeva Steenkamp a model and law graduate, at his home on Valentine’s Day last year.

But Pistorius, 27 denies the Charge and insist he opened fire by accident after mistaking her for an intruder.

The trial judge, Thokozile Masipa, is today expected to receive the reports of a panel of one psychologist and three psychiatrists who evaluated whether the athlete was suffering a generalised anxiety disorder that could have impaired his ability to distinguish right from wrong when he shot Steenkamp through a locked toilet door.
