Former E-Wallet (now rebranded Sunbird Search for a Star) winner, Kenneth Kabwila, is expected to release his debut album in the United States of America later on this year.
Kabwila, who won the E-Wallet 2007 edition, is currently in the U.S. where he is working and pursuing his music career.
Now known as Bionix, the artist said the album, which he is currently recording, is titled Rebirth and will be out on 31 December.
Bionix is an artist whose sound and messages are what makes him stand out. His music carries messages of hope, positivity and style through unique hybrid of R&B, Afro Urban and Hip Hop.
“This will be my first album. It’s called Rebirth because from the time I won [E-Wallet] up to now I have gone through a lot, some bad and some good. At the same time, some of the people I know have shared the same fate.
“On the other hand, what I believe is, we are always evolving, thus to my music meaning, being reborn every morning when we wake up,” said the artist, who was fondly known as KK during the 2007 E-Wallet contest.
KK left Malawi for the U.S. in 2012 and apart from music he is also working as an Assistant Manager at West Side Inc in Indiana.
Before he left the country, he had worked with the likes of Blasto, Third Eye, Jabs and Tissy Mike, who are also expected to appear on the upcoming album.
Rebirth, which will also be released in Malawi, is being produced by Espitra of Jeejuh Records in the USA and will as well have productions by renowned Malawian producer Tapps Bandawe.
