Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has commended the party Councilor for Mazengera Ward for being elected as Chairman of the Lilongwe District Council.
MCP Ward Councilor Samson Chaziya was elected as Chairman yesterday and the elections were in line with local governments and town assemblies act.
Speaking in an interview after the election, MCP president said he is optimistic that Chaziya will work to the benefits of local Malawians who voted for him.
Concurring with MCP President, Lilongwe District Commissioner, Charles Kalemba, asked the ward Councillors to be committed and work for the benefits of the local Malawians.
