Barely seven weeks after the country’s ever controversial tripartite election , former ruling People’s Party (PP) has said the party is yet to conduct postmortem of the election as it is still meditating the loss suffered.
PP spokesperson Mr. Ken Msonda disclosed this to the press.
In his speech, Msonda said the delay in conducting postmortem of the May 20 tripartite election is justified as the party and its leadership had engaged ‘in a tedious campaign ahead of the May polls’ in which they suffered heavy defeat to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Msonda further said , the PP is going to chart the way forward but insisted that the Peoples’ Party still has its structures intact.
“We are still here and intact. The party leadership is receiving feedback from members on how they can improve structures across the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, prospects of the party coming out public or holding the postmortem anytime soon have also been rendered remote by the fact that the party president, Dr. Joyce Banda is away in the United States of America.
