Malawi’s award winning actress, Flora Suya, has landed a spot as a leading character in an
upcoming Zambia movie titled Chenda.
This has been disclosed in statement issued by Diamond Creative, the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) dated July 20 2014.
According to the statement, Suya plays a role of “Chenda” a married woman who fails to bear children, which in turn makes her husband find a concubine.
“He stops caring for his wife and that leaves her vulnerable. His friend’s son comes home
for a visit and falls for Chenda. He seduces her and she falls for him.
“Shooting for the movie shall commence on Tuesday, 22 July, 2014,” the statement
reads in part.
The play which was written by Ivory Van Der Boom will also feature a Zimbabwean actress, Charity Ndlodlo.
The film will be directed and produced by Owas Ray Mwape under his company, Owas
Crystal Films Productions.
The Malawi’s actress has received recognition both locally and Internationally.
