Former Justice Minister Ralph Kasambara who is answering charges of money laundering in the plundering of public funds at Capitol Hill dubbed Cashgate Scandal has asked State prosecutor Kamudoni Nyasalu to stop hearing his case.

Kasambara through his lawyer presented the argument on Monday during Court sitting.

In the argument, Gift Nankhuni representing the defense team argued that State Prosecutor does not have valid license to handle the case.

The defense team further questioned the appointment of Kamudoni into the case, saying proper channels were not followed.

“I will not support short-cuts in the pretence of special prosecutions”, said Kasambara.

In view of this development, Justice Chifundo Kachali was left with no option but to adjourn the case to July 28 and in the process he order Director of Public Prosecution to present response by Friday based on the objection raised by the defence lawyer.

Kachali also ordered the defence team to present their objection in writing by Wednesday, July 23.
