Businessman Oswald Lutepo, the prime suspect in the plundering of public funds at Capitol Hill dubbed Cashgate Scandal who was arrested on Sunday for Perjury has been referred to City Centre Clinic in Lilongwe on Monday afternoon after falling ill.

Lutepo’s lawyer Oswald Mkupila confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press.

“I can confirm that my client fell ill on Sunday night while in Police Custody and he has since been referred to City Centre Clinic”, said Mkupila.

Lutepo’s arrest came barely days after he wrote the newly appointed Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale, complaining that he was forced by certain government officials by then to take false Oath and implicate former Justice Minister Ralph Kasambala.

The plundering of public Funds at Capitol Hill came to light when unknown thugs shot former Budget Director Mr. Paul Mphwiyo.
