A 24 year-old Man in Nkhotakota is in police custody for allegedly being in possession of fake banknotes amounting to K78,000.
Nkhotakota police Public Relations Officer Williams Kaponda confirmed of the arrest and identified the the suspect as Edward Jossiah.
According to the police, Jossiah was arrested on Saturday at Nkhotakota bus deport where he wanted to buy 300 kilograms of rice with fake banknotes which was recognised by one of the vendors.
The vendor apprehended the suspect and handed him to police.
Josiah hails from Kaphanga village, T/A Khombedza in Salima.
