Football Association of Malawi (FAM) General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda has diclosed that South African Club Bloemfontein Celtic has allowed to release two Malawian Players a head of Flames return leg against Benin in 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to be held on August 2.

The development follows a meeting FAM Secretary General held on Thursday with the team.
The two players, Limbikani Mzava and Gabadihnou Mhango, missed the first leg, which Malawi lost, after Celtic refused to release them.

Nyirenda disclosed this through a statement posted on Farm official Facebook page on Thursday.

“I would like to inform you that I have successfully negotiated for the release of Limbikani Mzava and Gabadinho Frank Mhango to play for the Malawi National Team during the return match against Benin in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers”, reads the statement in part.

According to the statement, the meeting was held at Bloemfontein Technical Centre from 12.30pm to 13.25pm was attended by the Club’s CEO, The Head Coach and the new
owners of the club.

“The lengthy discussions centred on the reasons why the club did not release the players and I had to plead with the Coach to seriously consider releasing the players after their MTN Top 8 match against Bidvest on Friday 1st August. It was not easy but through God’s intervention the Coach accepted and what a sigh of relief”, continue to read the statement.

The players will travel to Malawi on Saturday 2nd August and will return back their club on Monday 4th August.
