Minister of Information tourism and civic Education has said government will construct new state of the art Malawi Institute of tourism Campus in Lilongwe.
Mr Kondwani Nankhumwa disclosed this in Blantyre on Friday during the Graduation Ceremony of students who have just finished their training at Malawi Institute of tourism.
In his speech, Nankhumwa said government will put aside money in the 2014/15 national budget for the construction of the school which will cost government money amounting to MK5 billion.
He said the school will be constructed in phases and when it is completed it will help to increase the intake by 280.
On his part, MIT Executive Director Mike Matola said with the increase in Tourism service out there has made the school which is the only recognized institution in the Industry to have pressure as many prospective student wish to join the school.
He however expressed satisfaction with the government plains of constructing another school in Lilongwe saying this will help to accommodate the increasing demand.
