Justice delay is injustice. A Blantyre based boy child is still waiting for his compensation after his leg was amputated following a medical error at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.

The leg of ten year old boy Kelvin Kavalo was amputated when medical personnel injected a drip at a wrong spot on the leg as treatment of malaria when he was eleven months old.

The parents sought justice from the courts and the Supreme Court ruled in his favor in 2012 and he is yet to receive 11 million kwacha compensation which he is still waiting up to date.

The boy uses an artificial leg which is costing his parents fifteen thousand kwacha every five months.
