President Professor Author Peter Mutharika will be a featured panelist at the official event of the Summit in Washington, D.C. – the Civil Society Forum Consultation on Open Government.
The panel will be moderated by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power. We will be live-streaming the event at the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section located in the Old Mutual Building in City Center.
This has been disclosed through a statement posted on the Official Malawi Government Facebook page few minutes ago.
Chargé d’Affaires Michael Gonzales and Special Assistant to the President Mavuto Bamusi will open the program at 2:00 pm. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
President Mutharika’s panel will be followed at 4:00 p.m. by a discussion of Malawi’s membership in the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and efforts underway by civil society groups and the Government of Malawi to prepare Malawi’s National Action Plan.
The discussion will be moderated by leaders from Citizens for Justice and the Center for Human Rights and Rehabilitation.
